I–V characteristics of three photoanodes under illumination with white light (λ > 370 nm): FTO/TiO2/porphyrin particles (a), FTO/TiO2/H4TAPP6+(b), and FTO/TiO2/CoTPPS4−(c). The solutions corresponding to FTO/TiO2/porphyrin nano- and micro-particles, FTO/TiO2/H4TAPP6+, and FTO/TiO2/CoTPPS4− electrodes consist of H2TAPP4+ (20 mL, 3.5 × 10−5 mol L−1), CoTPPS4−(20 mL, 1 × 10−4 mol L−1), and HCl (20 mL, 2 mol L−1) (a); H2TAPP4+ (20 mL, 3.5 × 10−5 mol L−1) and HCl (10 mL, 2 mol L−1) (b); CoTPPS4−(20 mL, 1 × 10−4 mol L−1) and HCl (10 mL, 2 mol L−1) (c), respectively. Electrolyte: acetonitrile containing 0.5 mol L−1LiI and 0.01 mol L−1I2. Input power: 75 mW cm−1
