From: Biocompatibility of Liposome Nanocarriers in the Rat Inner Ear After Intratympanic Administration

Fig. 7

Hyaluronic acid secretion in rat cochlea exposed to liposome nanocarriers was detected with immunofluorescent confocal microscopy. Positive staining was found in the stria basal cell (SBC), outer sulcus cell (OSC), spiral ganglion cell (SGC), and capillary endothelial cell (CEC) of modiolus of groups of negative control (H2O) (ac, j), empty liposome nanocarriers (LPN) (df, k), and Gd-DOTA-containing LPN (LPN + Gd) (gi, l). There was no staining in the antibody omitted negative control (AbNC) (m). CEC capillary endothelial cell, ISC inner sulcus cell, SBC stria basal cell, SL-I spiral ligament fibrocyte type I, SLSF spiral limbus satellite fibrocyte, SMC stria vascularis marginal cell. Scale bar = 16 μm
