Change of magnetization (M) with temperature (T) for pristine Fe3O4 while heating up to a 600 K and b 900 K using magnetic field of 200 Oe at three heating–cooling cycles. The schematic diagram on top of the figure represents the change of morphology of the NPs as temperature increases from 300 to 900 K (Initially, the Fe3O4 NPs are covered with a thin surface layer of γ-Fe2O3 which acts as a shell. Upon heating to 600 K, the γ-Fe2O3 annihilation takes place and NPs agglomeration start to occur till 900 K, magenta arrows represent spin’s orientation)
