The scheme of the interaction between aged (CdSe/ZnS)-Cys 558 QD and TPPS₄ porphyrin at neutral pH. The porphyrin molecules adsorb on the QD surface due to the high affinity of the porphyrin π-conjugated system for metal surfaces increasing the net negative charge on the QD surface, thus increasing electrostatic repulsion between particles and inducing their disaggregation
